2007 Rocky Mountain Region

Region Sanction Program

This program is an effort to try and get more of the region clubs and members involved in the region champions program. This program will include all types of corvette events. Instead of just sanctioning for the national level we could also sanction for the Rocky Mountain Region. Essentially this means that events sanctioned for our region will be treated almost like non-sanctioned events with a few changes except points will be awarded. There will still be National Sanctions and Non-sanctions available. Listed below are the guidelines.

(A) Events must be open to all region members

(B) Events must involve the use of a Corvette

(C) A Rocky Mountain Region sanction request must be received by the RCD at least 30 day’s prior the event.

(D) A flyer or notification of the event must be sent to each region governor at least 15 days prior to the event. This flyer or notification must include date, location, type of event, start time, entry fee, and contact information. This could be sent either by hard copy or by e-mail per the choice of each governor.

(E) Results and waivers must be sent to the RCD within 15 days after the event is over. Results sheets need to have entrant’s name, NCCC number, club, and finishing position. Points will be awarded as per NCCC rulebook. In events where entrants are not scored, i.e. driving schools and fall color tours etc, each entrant will receive 3 points. Only region members entering in corvettes will receive points.

(F) A club will receive club points upon completion of all required paperwork for events that they host. National sanctioned events will receive 100 club points, Region sanctioned events will receive 75 club points. These points will be given for a club’s first 7 events. If a club does more than 7 they will be awarded 25 points or the total of the points earned by their members who entered or worked that event, which ever is greater. Club points will also be awarded for the points that members receive from other Rocky Mountain Region NCCC club events that are covered under this program.

(G) Failure to follow the above guidelines will result in loss of points as per NCCC rulebook.

(H) It is recommended that NCCC classifications and requirements be followed. Deviations from NCCC requirements should be stated on flyer or notification.

Public safety must be prime consideration at any event.

SUGGESTED AUTOCROSS CLASS RULES

(1) Cars will put into classes by years (except Modified). There will be 3 categories as follows:

Factory Class (no changes or modifications, tires must have a minimum tread depth of 2/32" in all major grooves, a treadwear rating of 160, tires and wheels must be stock size)

Street Class (modifications allowed to air intake, intake manifold and related parts, exhaust, suspension, computer, minor body changes, DOT approved race tires, any size tire and wheel combination that fit without touching frame or body at anytime)

Modified Class (cars with non-DOT tires (race slicks), superchargers, or turbocharged, or if the car is severely modified) Modified class is not broke down by years, all modified cars run in the same class. Any Corvette that does not have a full interior must meet NCCC rulebook safety tech for Group 3 cars.

B2K Callaway corvettes allowed in Factory Stock and Street Stock if they meet rules for those classes.

(2) All cars must be teched for safe operating condition.

(3) All helmets must meet NCCC rulebook guidelines (Snell approved no older than 10 years from date of manufacture, if helmet does not have a date than must be SA2000 or M2000 and newer)

(4) It is recommended that all cars have a mounted fire extinguisher in good condition.

(5) Seat belts need to be equal to factory belts or better and in good condition. Race harness belts can be no older then 5 years from date of manufacture.

The above classes are suggested guidelines for LOW SPEED AUTOCROSS EVENTS. The clubs will be free to run their event as they see fit as long as it is done with safety in mind.

Public safety must be prime consideration at any event.
