TORCA at CWCC Low-Speed Autocross
March 15, 2009
Fruita, CO

On Sunday, March 15th, the Colorado West Corvette Club held the first autocross of the season. TORCA members that made the trek over the mountain to satisfy their autocross addiction (smoking rubber and burning gas) included Randy Z., Barb R., Warren and Michele V., Bob and Cheryl C., Roger M. and Kitty D.. TORCA member, Matthew M., who resides in Grand Junction, also came out to play. Matthew really enjoys making the most of his time on the course! As always, Larry M. and his club made the most of a small area and set up an interesting course at the Fruita Monument High School parking lot. Larry provided lots of seat time for everyone to enjoy. After some coaching from Roger, Kitty learned that a smooth run really is faster than a “balls to the wall” run. She and Roger ended the day with overall Fastest Times of the Day, and Michele tried her best to drive the course faster than Warren, after all, they both drove her car! Randy and Barb did an awesome job breaking in Randy’s recently overhauled LT4. This was Bob and Cheryl’s first autocross, making a great start on their autocross addiction. The weather cooperated beautifully, and everyone had an awesome time. The TORCA autocrossers thank Larry for a job well done and plan to do as well with their inaugural autocross on April 19th.
