TORCA AT DCA Fourth of July
Annual Weekend Event in Keystone, CO
Car Show - Vette-Viper Challenge

Pete Urenda, the driving force behind the Denver Corvette Association, lost his mother Mary Lou Urenda (NCCC member RM114-0422L) the weekend before this annual event and the Urenda family was unable to act as hosts. Mary Lou, who was a great-grandmother, always participated in Corvette activities along with her husband Albert.

In true rocky mountain regional spirit the rest of DCA and TORCA jumped in to help fill their roles. The car show (Saturday) and autocross (Sunday) went well and everyone had fun. Cindy and Don hosted a barbeque at their home in Silverthorn that Saturday night.

At the autocross on Sunday, a Viper had the FTD in the morning session, but the rest of the Vipers were put to shame by the TORCA ladies, especially Becky who had FTD and also bested Mike's time. Becky gave the coveted 'VETTE' bracelet, which is passed amongst the ladies to whomever has the current FTD at an event, to Cheryl to wear, as Cheryl had improved so much in her rookie season. The afternoon session was rained out, but we were able to complete at least 1 run and Jackie walked away with the ladies FTD bracelet for the first time. Mike had FTD, besting Becky, and recovered his manhood. Ten TORCA members met for supper afterwards at Pug's Restaurant in Dillon before heading down the mountain.
