Colorado West Corvette Club Autox

LAST AUTOX OF THE SEASON!

We had marvelous scenery to enjoy, and except for the precipitation on the way back, a good weekend for a trip and our favorite sport for sporty cars - Low Speed Autocross! Saturday night all the TORCA members, Mike and Becky, Matt, Don and Cindy and TORCA friends Kitty, Barb and Randy, convened at Roger Miller's home in Fruita, and grilled steaks that we picked up at the local City Mart. Roger is famous (infamous) for his marguritas.

We saw some new C6's there for their first event and the new novices really enjoyed the sport. The C5 Z06 traveling hat, sent along by the last owner Ken who could not make the show, was mounted on the starting cone to further add to the challenge for Roger and Mike. Roger proved to be the rightful heir and won the cap for the year.

We were done by 2 PM in the afternoon on Sunday and headed home after a quick road report by calling CDOT. (call on your cell 511 or 303-639-1111). The fall colors were still bright amidst the darkened sky and freeway speeds were maintained all the way home. We even got a picture of the Urenda's C5 as we passed them in near Idaho Springs, CO.
