TORCA at

November 11. 2007 - Parker, Colorado

Roger M. was caught in a very 'pink' store at the mall (actually it was one of the required stops).
There were 30+ cars at this event which consisted of 5 separate NCCC/RMR point sanctions. It was hosted by McCabes's Bistro and Pub in the Southlands Shopping Mall (E-470 & Smokey Hill Rd) near Parker, CO. The events (see FLYER) were basically parlor games and the only actual people's choice car show was judged by the McCabe's employees. A walk-around-the-mall type of poker rallye was held where we had to go into various stores to get our cards. We bought cookies and chocolate to support the stores. The winner of the charity car show, Tim's Challenge, was determined by buying votes at $1.00 a pop. TORCA members entered into a bidding war against each other and spent over $250 each to try and win a $10 trophy. Other participants from Colorado Corvette Club, Denver Corvette Association and DtRC contributed to the player's pot to keep the TORCA bidders playing as long as possible. There was no cash left in anyone's pockets and checks had to be written. The benificiery of this insane contest, was of course the families that would be receiving gifts this Christmas, delivered by DtRC on December 16th. Over $1700 was raised for this benifit.
