CSCC Pagosa Springs Corvette Classic
Sep 23, 2007

Several TORCA members, Bill O., Mike and Becky K. and Mel and Roberta (Bob) K. drove down US285 through some absolutely beautiful Colorado back country roads, passing over Kenosha Pass, Red Hill Pass, Pocha Pass, then to US160 over Wolf creek Pass (across the Great Divide) over to Pagosa Springs. Others took a detour around Chama, which is supposed to be a breathtaking drive. About 14 Corvettes made it to the event, and although it rained on the Sunday, the town had set up a large pavilion tent for us to present our rides.

As usual, Mike invited all the young folks and non-corvette people to take turns sitting in the yellow Z06 (find your pictures below). This contributed to Mike and Becky getting 2nd place in the C5 category behind Bill's sparkling blue convertible.

We took off about noon and headed back over Wolf Creek Pass as it was threatening to snow near sundown. The pass was rainy and foggy in spots, but down right gorgeous! Once on the other side and into the sunshine, before getting to South Fork, CO we found a wonderful place to eat, the Chalet Swiss Restaraunt with Swiss cuisine. The proprietors, Fredi and Kelly, cooked and served our dishes, very elegant but reasonably priced. Make this a future stop next time you are down that way.

The rain caught back up with us and we continued on home staying ahead of it the whole way. We were back by 7:00 PM. The pictures below are in the order taken during the trip and back, by Mike and Becky.
